Lady Mathematician Won the Prestigious Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Award

I hope some of you might have heard about this news in the last 48 hours...
However, if you haven't, then here it is.
It's a proud moment for all of us Indians to have such a wonderful person among us, who not just won the India's prestigious Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar award but also the youngest at the age of 35.
Neena is the third woman to win the prestigious Bhatnagar award till date. The other two were, R Parimala in 1987 and R Sujatha in 2004.

- She graduated with an honours degree in Mathematics from Bethune college in 2006
- She had completed her Post Graduation and subsequently her Ph.D. in ISI (Indian Statistical Institute) in 2008 and 2011 respectively
- Her specialization under Ph. D. was Algebraic Geometry
Rewards & Recognizations :
- She has received the Indian National Science Academy Young Scientist award in 2014 for the solution she proposed to the Zariski Cancellation Problem in positive characteristic
- She is also the receipt of the Ramanujan Prize (2014), and the Saraswathi Cowsik Medal (2013) by Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) Alumni Association
